Olympia Mutual Aid Partners (OlyMAP) does critical work with the homeless population in Olympia. In a short period, their organization had tripled in size, expanding their programs and impact—but their website hadn’t been updated in years. They had no dedicated tech staff, and each time someone tried to fix it, they got lost in the tangled mess of outdated plugins and conflicting design tools. Over time, making even small updates felt impossible, and the team became afraid to touch it at all.
This had real consequences for the people interacting with OlyMAP online. Their donation page was outdated, their public contact information was limited, and their home page no longer reflected the scope of their work. They needed a site that would properly represent them to funders, program participants, and the community—but they didn’t know where to start.
Over the course of three months, we met with OlyMAP regularly to plan the project, go over what they needed, and draw up outlines for the new site. They took the time to write fresh content and gather new photos from their programs while we worked on a structure that would be easier to maintain long-term. In the end, we completely rebuilt the site on a platform that was much more user-friendly, so they wouldn’t run into the same maintenance issues after we were gone.

OlyMAP staff finally have a website they can control. What used to be a maze of broken tools is now an easy, intuitive system. They also appear more reliably in search results, making it easier for people to find them when they want to learn more about their services.
The project also makes a difference for the broader community. Program participants can easily find the right contacts, and messages no longer get lost in an overwhelmed inbox. The site now truly reflects OlyMAP’s work, giving them not just a functional tool, but a stronger connection to the people they serve.
